The Orlando Magic along with Chase celebrates February as Black History Month with a variety of activities, starting on February 5 when the Magic host the Detroit Pistons (tip off set at 7:00 p.m.). The night will feature a special pregame performance featuring The Nap Ford Ubuntu Drummers. During halftime, an on-court presentation will take place with Magic and Chase representatives honoring students from Mollie Ray Elementary School for their efforts in refurbishing a basketball court and mural painting at the school in celebration of Black History Month.

The celebration continues on February 9 during the Magic vs. Pacers matchup with Black Greek Unity Night. The Magic will host the National Pan-Hellenic Council which is comprised of nine historically African-American, international Greek letter sororities and fraternities. The night will also feature a special pregame step performance by the Omega Psi Phi fraternity.

Off the court, the Magic tipped off the month-long celebration with a court refurbishment and mural painting community project for a “day of service” to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at Mollie Ray Elementary.

The Orlando Magic is also a proud support of the NBA’s “Dream BIG” campaign celebrating the legacy of African-Americans. “Dream BIG” will run through Black History Month. The new campaign was developed in conjunction with GlobalHue, a leading U.S. full-service agency with multicultural expertise. The various program elements will reach a broad African-American audience through a series of event activations, educational programs and targeted media partnerships.

The Magic is committed to creating an environment in which employees, community partners and fans feel welcome, valued and appreciated. Chase has a long-standing commitment to promoting and supporting diversity in the communities it serves and provides opportunities and an inclusive environment for employees, consumers and local partners.
