2017 NBA Draft Prospects: Small Forwards
1 / 11OrlandoMagic.com's Josh Cohen takes a look at 10 of the best small forwards available in the 2017 NBA Draft. It's important to note that some of the players included can also play other positions (shooting guard for some and power forward for others). Therefore, you will see some of the same prospects in each of the different positional galleries. The prospects mentioned are in alphabetical order. Click through this gallery for details. OG Anunoby, Indiana Anunoby is one of the most athletically gifted players in this draft. He is a high flyer, extraordinarily explosive and can jump over people and dunk with power. He goes full force to the rim, which can be daunting for defenders when he’s in attack mode. He did have season-ending knee surgery this past January. Anunoby is a tenacious defender. He’s very active, has outstanding instincts and keeps his body lower to the floor. He’s pesky with his hands, which helps him come up with a lot of swipes, deflections and interceptions. He’s also versatile enough to guard multiple positions. Anunoby is not a lights out shooter but he’s good enough from deep to keep the defense honest. He shot 45 percent from beyond the arc during his freshman year (in limited minutes). His length allows him to shoot over defenders. Also, because he’s so quick off the dribble, often the defense will give him space and dare him to shoot rather than close out and run him off the 3-point line.
