First Ever NHL Game at Amway Center a Success

ORLANDO -- Nearly 12,000 people were on hand to watch the first ever hockey game at the dazzling Amway Center on Wednesday and based on fan reactions and player and coach postgame analysis, it was a stirring success.

Though just an exhibition, the energy that encircled the arena during the St. Louis Blues’ 4-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning indisputably indicated that the NHL is blossoming across Central Florida.

Afterwards, the stars on the ice suggested that it would be outstanding to return to Amway Center in the future.’s Dan Savage and Josh Cohen were present for this historical hockey matchup and had the opportunity to catch up with Lightning Head Coach Guy Boucher and fan favorites Steven Stamkos and Marc-Andre Bergeron during postgame media availability to discuss their thoughts of playing at Amway Center.
