``I was here (in Orlando) most of the summer, trying to work on getting my ball-handling better and get my point guard skills sharper,’’ said Moore, who averaged 7.8 points, 2.7 assists and 2.2 rebounds last season. ``I’ve been used to playing off the ball a lot, so I worked to get ready to play on the ball.’’
As for the guard’s toughness that Vaughn and Oladipo rave about, Moore said it just stems from his desire to compete. Once last season in Toronto, Moore was even used at power forward late in a game and was forced to guard the 6-foot-11 Ed Davis. He said he’ll guard any player and play any position if it helps him get on the floor more.
``I’ve been in a lot of tough situations in my basketball life and I’ll take those chances to make big shots as a way to compete,’’ Moore said. ``What I love doing is competing and getting after it – whether that’s taking the big shot or playing defense.’’
