Dead ahead for the Magic (3-4) on Monday at 7:30 p.m. are the Boston Celtics (3-4) and pesky point guard Avery Bradley. The Celtics, and Bradley in particular, played a major role in the first rough patch of Oladipo’s young professional career by hounding him all over the floor with ball pressure on Friday night.
With the score tied at 75-all against the Celtics, Bradley jarred the ball out of Oladipo’s hands in the backcourt, scooped it up and finished with a dunk as he was fouled by the Magic rookie. Orlando never recovered and lost 81-79 in frustrating fashion.
Oladipo said all the right things after the game, but privately he seethed over the mistake in the close game. His competitiveness was so noticeable afterward that teammate Arron Afflalo predicted that the rookie would be breathing fire by Monday’s game.
``I’ve just got a good feeling that he’ll be ready to play,’’ Afflalo said through a sly smile. ``And I’ll make sure that I put a little bug in his ear. He’ll come out ready to play.’’
