Orlando not only had 16 steals, but it converted many of those for dunks on the other end. Within seconds of one another Tobias Harris and Ronnie Price both had steals in the third quarter – both of them resulting in dazzling dunks for Harris to put the Magic up 68-45.
``(The defense) was great to see. We pretty much held them under 40 percent most of the night with nine points in the second and 18 in the third that we gave up,’’ Vaughn said. ``So even though we didn’t shoot the ball well, the defense gave us a chance to win a ballgame. The deflections, the steals and the activity were great to see.’’
Maurice Harkless, Orlando’s steadily blossoming small forward, played his best all-around game of the preseason with 11 points, four steals and three assists. Rookie Victor Oladipo made four of 14 shots, but he still had eight points, seven assists and three steals.
