Miami was without Dwyane Wade, who didn’t play for a second consecutive night because of lingering soreness in his surgically repaired knee. Wade has missed three games this season, but is expected to return by Saturday.

The Magic will be off and on the practice court the next two days before facing the Heat again. Saturday’s game will be in South Florida. The Magic will be back at the Amway Center on Sunday night when they host the Phoenix Suns at 6 p.m.

Victor Oladipo got the first start of his professional career as the Magic went to a small-ball lineup to match Miami’s backcourt of Mario Chalmers, James Jones and Shane Battier. Oladipo struggled mightily on Saturday night with a career-worst nine turnovers, but Vaughn stuck by his rookie and inserted him into Wednesday’s starting lineup.
