After an Avery Bradley free throw, Magic rookie Victor Oladipo saw his midcourt heave hit off the top of the backboard. Oladipo made just three of 12 shots and scored nine points. However, he had three turnovers, including one where Boston’s Avery Bradley stripped the ball from him and converted a three-point play to break a 75-all tie.

``Vic is a very competitive guy,’’ Afflalo said. ``I know we play (on Saturday in Atlanta), but I’m sure he’s already thinking about Monday (and a rematch against the Celtics).’’

The Magic were trying to win a fourth straight game for the first time since Dec. 19 of 2012. Instead, they dropped a ninth straight game to a Celtics team that unloaded Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry in the offseason.

Vucevic had 14 points and 13 rebounds, while point guard Jameer Nelson chipped in 12 points and seven assists.

However, Nelson had seven turnovers, Vucevic had four turnovers and Afflalo accounted for three errors. Boston scored 25 points off the Magic miscues, allowing it to win despite shooting just 39.8 percent. It was the fourth straight Magic opponent to fail to shoot at least 40 percent from the floor.

Bass had 16 points for the Celtics, while fellow former Magic guard Courtney Lee added 13 points off the bench.
