Denton: Harris May Return Friday vs. Cavaliers
Take one injured player out of the rotation for a lengthy period of time and it upsets the balance of the roster, Vaughn said. But get them all healthy and available to play, and the head coach feels that the Magic could finally be in position to play some of their best basketball of the season.
``Unless you have 15 all-stars on your team, there are certain roles for guys within the makeup of your team,’’ Vaughn said. ``It’s like the ecosystem and when that is sometimes disturbed, other parts are affected. Having Nik back in the lineup effects the power forward minutes, it affects rotations and it affects us getting a rebound or not getting a rebound. Sometimes it’s that simple.’’
Davis, one of the Magic’s captains, thinks that Vaughn is onto something by making the team’s long-term health a wish for this Christmas. He feels that if Orlando can incorporate Harris back into the fold and be whole for an extended period of time that Orlando can rip off a series of victories.
``If we can get the whole team healthy for a good period of time, we feel like we can win some games,’’ Davis said confidently. ``Since I’ve been here and since Jacque (became Orlando’s coach), we haven’t had a whole team yet. If I wanted to ask for anything for Christmas, it would be a healthy team, most definitely.’’
