Orlando, Fla., - The Orlando Magic will host a community book fair for their employees and families to support Scholastic’s The Big Red Bus Summer Reading Program on Wednesday, May 14 from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. outside the Magic offices near “Fan Ave” in the RDV Sportsplex, 8701 Maitland Summit Blvd., Orlando, 32810. The book fair will feature specially priced books and educational products, including newly released works, award-winning titles, children’s classics, interactive software and current bestsellers from dozens of publishers.

Research shows that students who don't continue to read over the summer lose crucial ground. In fact, one summer off can sometimes mean an entire school year of playing academic catch-up. To keep kids reading this summer, Scholastic Book Fairs, Seminole County Public Schools and local businesses are teaming up to bring great books to area kids through the Big Red School Bus Summer Reading program.

Stocked full of thousands of great books to check out and staffed by a certified media specialist, The Big Red Bus will hit the road in June to bring books right to the doorstep of kids who may not otherwise have access to books. The Bus will make four daily stops in Seminole County for ten weeks during the summer.

To help fund the Big Red School Bus, local community stakeholders are joining Scholastic Book Fairs in hosting special corporate book fairs at their business locations. The community is invited to stop by and shop. A percentage of all sales will support the Seminole County Summer Reading Tour and get the wheels turning on the Big Red School Bus.

Businesses are invited to host a corporate book fair for their employees and families to support The Big Red Bus. Please contact Dillon Kalkhurst, dkalkhurst@scholasticbookfairs.com for more information.
