Hedo Turkoglu Named The Ace Hardware ’Helpful Player of the Month’
Hedo Turkoglu has been named the Ace Hardware “Helpful Player of the Month” for the month of April for his willingness to give back to the community.
In addition to attending a Feed The Children event on Apr. 2 to provide 400 Orlando families with boxes of food and personal care items, he also appeared at a local Best Buy to sign autographs for fans on Mar. 9 and met with a group from his homeland in Turkey after a recent Magic home game.
Turkoglu has also been active in helping to raise money for the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation over the past month, attending the OMYF’s Celebrity Draft and Lottery Party on Mar. 11, volunteering his time along with the entire team at the OMYF’s Black Tie and Tennies Charity Gala on Mar. 29 and also auctioning off a one-on-one basketball clinic with a fan during the event, which he will conduct later this year with the winning bidder.
Ace Hardware, in conjunction with the Orlando Magic, will honor one Magic player each month during the 2007-08 season as the Ace Hardware “Helpful Player of the Month.” Each selection will be based on their dedication to the Central Florida community and will exemplify Ace’s vision as “The Helpful Place.”
