Blanquita Trabold Recognized as October’s Fifth Third Bank Orlando Magic Maker

    Every month the Magic and Fifth Third Bank select a community member as the “Fifth Third Bank Orlando Magic Maker” for their dedication and significant contribution to the Orlando community. This month Blanquita Trabold will be recognized for her support of local organizations and for her willingness to help those in need of medical attention who can’t afford it.

    Trabold’s list of accomplishments include being a board member of the Ladies Symphony League Orlando, a charter member of Thousand Plus for the benefit of the American Cancer Society, an advisory board member of the Barry University School of Law and chairing Coeur de Coeur Ball, where she helped raise more than $120,000 for the American Heart Association. Trabold is currently the Executive Director of Casa de Mexico, where she raises funds for the sole purpose to ensure that uninsured migrant workers receive medical assistance. She also works closely with Florida Hospital to assist Mexican farm workers in receiving free medical assistance and has helped many through illnesses such as cancer.

    Trabold will be honored during the Miami Heat preseason game on Friday, October 12, 2007.

    Casa de Mexico promotes the rich culture and traditions of Mexico in Orlando and throughout Central Florida. As a non-profit organization, all of the funds raised through their organization support their mission and also benefit Mexican farm workers and laborers who live in our community and whose hard work helps to build and feed our entire nation. In honor of Trabold’s accomplishments, Fifth Third Bank will also be making a $500 donation to Casa de Mexico in her honor.

    Orlando’s NBA franchise since 1989, the Magic annually gives more than $2 million to the local community by way of sponsorships of events, donated tickets, autographed merchandise, scholarships and grants. Orlando Magic community relations programming impacts an estimated 75,000 kids annually. Over the last 18 years, more than $13 million has been distributed to local non-profit community organizations via The Orlando Magic Youth Foundation. OMYF, a fund of the Robert R. McCormick Tribune Foundation, focuses on helping every child in Central Florida realize their full potential, especially those most at risk, by supporting programs and partnerships that empower families and change lives.
