Victor Oladipo Dunk Cancer Check Presentation

As part of the Dunk Cancer Social Media Fundraiser during the 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend, Magic guard Victor Oladipo donated 15K of his earnings from the 2015 Slam Dunk Contest to the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute earmarked for Florida Hospital’s Breast Care Fund. After the check presentation, Victor will spent time with youth whose parents have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

On March 4th, a group of kids from Boys Town of Central Florida had the opportunity to meet Orlando Magic Center Nikola Vucevic. The “Meet & Greet” with Vucevic took place during pregame warm-ups just before the Magic took on the Phoenix Suns. Students also received t-shirts that read “Nik’s Future Starz” along with the chance to enjoy players from both teams shoot-around prior to tipoff. This opportunity was provided as a ticket donation from Vucevic as a part of the Orlando Magic “Share the Magic” Player Ticket Program.

Orlando Magic Point Guard Elfrid Payton was given the opportunity to meet members from Elevate Orlando and the Center for Multicultural Wellness as part of our “Share the Magic” Ticket Program. Both organizations were able to attend a Magic game because of Elfrid’s generous donation to the ticket program. The “Meet & Greet” occurred during pregame on January 29th as the Magic prepared to take on the Milwaukee Bucks. Both groups, nicknamed “Payton’s Playmakers”, arrived to the Amway Center early to watch the Magic’s pregame warmups from courtside seats.

On January 25th, Kids Beating Cancer and Christians Chaplain in Action got the chance to meet Orlando Magic forward Maurice “Moe” Harkless through the Orlando Magic “Share the Magic” Player Ticket Program. The opportunity was provided as a ticket donation from Moe for being a part of the program. The “Meet & Greet” took place during pregame before the Magic took on the Indiana Pacers. Students received t-shirts as part of “Mini Moes” and enjoyed pregame warm-ups from the courtside seats.

As they continue to rack up assists on the court, Victor Oladipo and Elfrid Payton are also dishing out assists off the court. And while he continues to be an elite rebounder on the court, Nikola Vucevic is helping others rebound off the court. On Tuesday, Dec. 9, the three Magic stars teamed up with PepsiCo. to take 100 children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida on a holiday shopping spree. Each child received a $100 Walmart gift card and got the opportunity to pick out toys, electronics, clothes and other items while cruising the aisles with a few of their favorite Magic players.

As part of our “Share the Magic” Ticket Program, Orlando Magic forward Victor Oladipo was given the opportunity to meet a few members from Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Central Florida and New Directions Community Outreach. Both organizations were able to attend a game because of Victor’s generous donation to the “Share the Magic” ticket program. This “Meet & Greet” occurred during pregame on December 10th as the Magic prepared to take on the Washington Wizards. The organizations, nicknamed “Vic’s Victors”, arrived at the arena at 4:30pm and received their Ticket Program t-shirts. They were then escorted courtside to watch warm-ups.

On the basketball floor, Tobias Harris takes his role as a leader for the Orlando Magic very seriously. Similarly, Harris takes tremendous pride of being looked to as a role model for others when he is away from basketball. For a second straight holiday season, Harris partnered with the Magic and Amway Corporation to distribute Thanksgiving meals to preselected families from the Rosemont, Parramore and Englewood communities on Tuesday at the Rosemont Community Center.

On Sunday night, thieves broke into the youth center and stole approximately $6,000 worth of equipment, including computers, televisions and video games. Police are still investigating the robbery and are asking the public for any assistance in finding those who committed this crime. An inspirational setting that has helped so many young people improve their lives was desperate for some assistance and encouragement. On Thursday, that was delivered. The Orlando Magic and Magic guard Victor Oladipo surprised members of the youth center with all new equipment they purchased. The grief and distress felt during the prior 72 hours suddenly transformed into feelings of gratefulness and exultation.

Orlando Magic’s Tobias Harris Makes $50K Donation to Orange County Public Schools for Education

Orlando Magic forward Tobias Harris announced on Friday that Nap Ford Community School would be the recipient of a $20,000 grant. The contribution was made possible through a $50,000 donation that Harris was awarded as part of the Rich and Helen DeVos Community Enrichment Award that he received last spring for his off-the-court efforts. In addition to the $20,000 awarded to Nap Ford Community School, Harris also rewarded the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools with a $25,000 check and $5,000 to Howard Middle School. The presentation was made at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge following the 15th Annual Fore Our Schools Golf Tournament, an event which featured 250 golfers and raised $175,000 to assist the schools in improving educational programs for students.

Magic players Glen Davis and Andrew Nicholson took 100 youth from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Florida on a holiday shopping spree. Pepsi donated 75 $100 gift cards and Glen Davis donated 25 $100 gift cards for the shopping spree. In addition, Pepsi will donate $2,500 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida to help support their programs.
