Cohen: Flick-or-Treat Fun-Day

ORLANDO -- If you love Halloween, Amway Center was like Paradise Island on Sunday.

Aside from showing off costumes, families celebrated Halloween a day early by participating in a variety of activities as part of the Orlando Magic’s Flick-or-Treat Halloween Party.

At one station, you may have stacked up on bite size Snickers, Kit Kat bars and other chocolate delights from Orlando Magic Head Coach Stan Van Gundy.

At a separate spot, you may have gotten your picture taken with Magic President of Basketball Operations Otis Smith, who was certainly in the holiday spirit by choosing to dress up as the Grim Reaper for Halloween.

Across the concourse, you may have received an autograph from fan favorites and community ambassadors Nick Anderson and Bo Outlaw.

After amassing candy, compiling John Hancock’s, filling up the cameras with great memories, checking out all the spooky Halloween decorations and playing games at STUFF’s Haunted Magic Castle, families gathered at center court to watch the Magic Dancers perform a splendid routine and STUFF complete a spectacular flying act in his Superman costume.

The fun, however, didn’t end there.

Attendees watched the movie Monsters, Inc. on the massive Magic TV screen from the stadium seating.

While cruising from house to house to trick-or-treat on Halloween will never dissolve, it’s probably reasonable to suggest that flick-or-treating at Amway Center is just as fun, just as amusing and just as festive.
