Cohen's Analysis: In the first several minutes when Atlanta stormed out to a sizeable lead, it sure looked like Josh Smith was on a journey to score 40. But once Andrew Nicholson entered, suddenly J-Smoove’s contributions significantly decreased.
Nicholson defended Smith, the Hawks’ top scorer, as well as anyone has all season. A likely All-Star this year, Josh was limited to just three field goals after the first quarter.
This is an indication that while Drew may still struggle guarding the bigger, stronger fours around the league, he has the footwork and peskiness to be imposing for the more athletic power forwards like Smith.
