Cohen's Analysis: There was a ton of talk prior to the start of the season that the Magic would potentially explore trading J.J. Redick, who will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. But after 20-plus games, it’s more than palpable that J.J.’s value has grown exponentially.
One of the leading candidates for the Sixth Man of the Year award, Redick is no longer isolated to just his perimeter shooting. He is arguably the most multidimensional and malleable player on the Magic’s roster.
It remains to be seen if Orlando will survey the market come trade deadline time, but for now, it certainly appears Redick is a foundational piece the Magic would want to build with rather than part with.
