Cohen's Analysis: It’s something I ask myself regularly; what would the Magic be like if Hedo Turkoglu and Al Harrington were healthy and playing?
Now, we know Turk’s statistics have declined the last few years since guiding Orlando to the NBA Finals in 2009. But despite a drop in offensive production, the forward’s advanced playmaking skills and length are a big boost for a team that sometimes lacks in size and experience.
Much the same can be said for Harrington, who has consistently been one of the best stretch fours over the last 10 years. His perimeter shooting and length would add another dimension for the Magic’s offensive attack.
Assuming they both return healthy and are effective, one could argue that Orlando will have the most depth in the NBA.
For now, rookie Maurice Harkless is having to be responsible for a plethora of the minutes that either Hedo or Al would get if they were available. That is a lot to ask a 19-year-old, but he is starting to get more comfortable.
