Cohen's Analysis: It remains, arguably, the most pressing off-the-court story in NBA history. When Magic Johnson revealed to the world he had HIV in late 1991, infinite emotions rushed through our souls. It was a heartbreaking and stunning revelation.

However, with astonishing commitment to fighting the disease, Johnson gradually overcame the illness and though he initially retired from basketball managed to return for the 1992 NBA All-Star Game.

It was evident Showtime was back on that highly emotional day in Orlando when he delivered a performance for the ages, claiming All-Star MVP honors and earning mass approval from everyone who was thrilled to see one of the best to ever lace them up back doing what he loved to do.
