Cohen 8-Ball: Reasons For Recent Magic Success

There were some excessive expectations hovering over Tobias Harris when he returned this season following missing the first 16 games with a severe ankle injury. It all stemmed from his sensational play last season after coming over from Milwaukee in the J.J. Redick trade.

Patience was necessary before Harris would be able to again display his potential and that’s exactly what transpired. Lately, Harris has been tremendous – accentuated by a 28-point, 20-rebound performance against the Lakers and an unforgettable game-winning dunk at the buzzer vs. the Thunder.

Aside from his natural scoring abilities, Harris has a motor that is very distinctive for a guy with his size. He is excellent in transition and has developed his mid-range game. If he can become a more dependable outside shooter and a more daunting one-on-one defender, Harris has the tools to be an All-Star in this league.
