That whole idea that Jameer was too small, not athletically gifted and incapable of facilitating for others was a fallacy – as we discovered over the past 10 years – and the Magic’s decision to acquire his draft rights eventually helped turn the team into a title contender. No, Denver didn’t need Nelson considering it already had Andre Miller running the point, but every so often it must shake its head about giving him away for practically nothing (2005 pick which turned into Julius Hodge).
