#2 Chris Paul

Cohen’s Analysis: When watching Paul you can’t help but be amazed how in control he is and how easy he makes finding his teammates for good shots look. CP3 will likely lead the league in assists per game this season for the first time since the 2008-09 season and third time overall in his career. Doc Rivers’ guidance and the additions of J.J. Redick and Jared Dudley, who both help space the floor, are giving Paul far more options.

It just remains peculiar why Paul has still never advanced past the conference semifinals in his career. It doesn’t seem like a shortage of help around him. He had a very formidable cast in New Orleans when he played alongside David West, Tyson Chandler and Peja Stojakovic and now in Los Angeles he teams with guys like Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan and Jamal Crawford. There are no excuses any longer for Paul to not advance further in the playoffs.
