Cohen's Analysis: Tobias Harris has already shown he can thrive at either forward position. He is agile enough and can defend quicker, perimeter-oriented forwards to be effective at the 3 but is also strong enough and willing to compete in the post to be just as valuable at the 4.
This addition to the roster creates an intriguing discussion for next season: Who should be the starting forwards for the Magic? Currently, Andrew Nicholson and Maurice Harkless, who continue to improve every game, are the regulars at tipoff.
Much will depend on how both of them adapt to their upcoming offseason workouts. It’s no secret that Drew needs to bulk up and get significantly stronger to battle down low while Harkless must establish more of an offensive identity. If Harris finishes this season the way he started it in Orlando, it would be difficult for him not to eventually slide into the starting lineup by the beginning of next season.
