Cohen’s Analysis: Kobe Bryant always admired Mike Krzyzewski and eventually had the opportunity to play for him on the U.S. National Team. That veneration along with the fact that Duke was on a short list of considered schools before Bryant decided to enter the NBA Draft in 1996 made it seem that he would have been a Blue Devil.

Recently, however, in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Kobe stated that he was leaning toward choosing Duke’s archrival, North Carolina. He had tremendous respect for UNC-bound Vince Carter and was intrigued about the possibility of playing alongside him and Antawn Jamison.
