Anthony Davis vs. Andre Drummond

Cohen’s Analysis: The Pelicans and Pistons will only play each other twice a season – barring a future meeting in the NBA Finals – and Davis and Drummond may only occasionally guard each other considering one is more of a power forward and the other a conventional center, but there is already continuous debate about who will have a bigger impact for their respective teams.

While Davis flourished in college – earning National Player of the Year honors and leading Kentucky to an NCAA title before getting selected first overall in the 2012 draft – Drummond was a late bloomer and is just now burgeoning into an immovable force.

Most believe these two will battle for the DPOY award over the next several seasons and will be perennial All-Stars for their respective conferences. As versatile as Davis is and as much as he is improving, some think Drummond would be the No. 1 pick if the 2012 draft was re-selected.
