The Denver Nuggets will receive New York’s First Round draft pick in 2014 IF the Knicks’ pick is higher than their own. Otherwise, the Nuggets’ selection will go to the Magic.

HOW IT HAPPENED: It was agreed to as part of the blockbuster Carmelo Anthony trade in 2011. Denver, however, lost the opportunity of having two First Round picks when it acquired Andre Iguodala in the four-team Dwight Howard deal in 2012. It will relinquish the less favorable of the two picks to Orlando.

ANALYSIS: While the Nuggets have fallen rather significantly from last season, they may catch a break if the Knicks fail to make the playoffs and end up top five in the draft lottery.
