11/3/13 vs. NETS

OPPONENT ANALYSIS: It’s a championship or bust kind of season for the Nets, who made a blockbuster move in the offseason by acquiring future Hall of Famers Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. They are hoping all those present or former All-Stars do not obstruct each other. While KG and Pierce will likely be significant contributors in the playoffs because of their experience and inspiration, the progress of Brook Lopez and Deron Williams is most important if Brooklyn wants a high playoff seed. And will Jason Kidd be the right leader for such a veteran-dominated cast?

BEST STORYLINE: You couldn’t have really set up a more difficult start to the regular season for the Magic. They have to travel to Indiana and Minnesota and be the opponent of two teams playing their home openers and then return home and play a team that beat them twice in the preseason and a club with championship aspirations. If Orlando can finish the week 2-2, that would be a major achievement.
