Pacers, Heat Conf. Final Not Guaranteed?
Josh Cohen’s Analysis (Jan. 21, 2014): Well, it would be preposterous and totally sensationalized to suggest that Indiana and Miami will not clash in the Eastern Conference Finals for the second straight season. However, one league scout was adamant when he confidently avowed that the Washington Wizards could push the Heat to seven games in a series if they were to meet.
When healthy, the Wizards have shown to be very formidable – even crushing the Heat in a recent contest. There are even rumors that they have inquired about a potential trade involving Detroit’s Greg Monroe. If John Wall and Bradley Beal are healthy come playoff time and if Marcin Gortat and Nene (assuming they are still Washington’s front line) can impose their will against Miami’s thin front line, then I don’t think it is out of the question for the Wizards to threaten – but not beat – the Heat in a series.
