Lakers Assign Von Wafer to Fort Worth Flyers of NBA Development League

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., April 11 -- The Los Angeles Lakers have assigned guard Von Wafer to the Fort Worth Flyers of the NBA Development League, it was announced today by General Manager Mitch Kupchak.
Wafer was initially assigned to Fort Worth on February 27, 2006. The 6-5 guard out of Florida State played in eight games for the Flyers averaging 8.0 points and 2.5 rebounds in 17.9 minutes before being recalled back to Los Angeles on March 22, 2006.
Wafer was selected by the Lakers in the second round of the 2005 NBA Draft with the 39th pick overall. He has appeared in 16 games, averaging 1.3 points and 0.5 rebounds in 4.6 minutes.
