Lakers Trade Kareem Rush to Charlotte in Exchange for Two Future Picks

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Dec. 6 -- The Los Angeles Lakers have traded guard Kareem Rush to the Charlotte Bobcats for two future second round draft picks, it was announced today by General Manager Mitch Kupchak.

Rush, in his third season out of the University of Missouri, was the 20th selection in the 2002 NBA Draft and acquired by the Lakers in a draft day trade with the Toronto Raptors. Last season, Rush averaged 6.4 points and 1.3 rebounds in 72 games including a career-high 30-point performance January 16 against the Sacramento Kings.
