Lakers Sign J.R. Pinnock
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Sept. 6 -- The Los Angeles Lakers have signed Danilo (J.R.) Pinnock it was announced today by General Manager Mitch Kupchak. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.

Pinnock, the 58th overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks, was acquired in a draft day trade for the Laker’s 2007 second round draft pick (acquired from Miami).

Pinnock, an early entry candidate in this year’s draft after his junior year at George Washington, averaged 14.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.5 steals in earning First Team All Atlantic-10 honors as a junior last season. As a sophomore, the 6’5” guard was named Atlantic-10 Sixth Man of the Year. As a freshman, Pinnock was named to the Atlantic-10 All Rookie Team.

Pinnock most recently was a member of the Lakers 2006 Summer Pro League entry in Long Beach where he averaged 10.6 points and 2.3 assists in 24.5 minutes.
