KWAME BROWN TO HAVE SHOULDER SURGERY
El SEGUNDO – Los Angeles Lakers forward/center Kwame Brown will undergo surgery on his right shoulder tomorrow morning, it was announced today by the team. The procedure, which will be performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache of the Kerlan Jobe Orthopaedic Group, will entail the removal of a bursa sac and scar tissue.
Brown is expected to make a complete recovery and a timeline for his return will be determined at the conclusion of the surgery.
In 41 regular season games this season, Brown averaged 8.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and a career-best 1.20 blocked shots in 27.6 minutes. In five postseason games, Brown averaged 8.6 points and 5.6 rebounds in 26.6 minutes while scoring a playoff career-high 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting April 26 versus Phoenix.
