Lakers React to Kareem Abdul-Jabbars Announcement

Following Tuesday’s practice, Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak, Head Coach Phil Jackson and several players expressed their support for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar after learning that the Hall of Famer has a rare form of leukemia.
Each member of the Lakers organization reported that they’d either been told directly by Abdul-Jabbar’s representatives or had heard Tuesday morning that his prognosis is good, and were collectively very hopeful and optimistic that the NBA’s all-time leading scorer would not only handle the disease but also spread awareness at the same time.
