GAME 5: Lakers eliminated as Suns advance
In the end, the Phoenix Suns had too much speed, too many free throws, and too much talent for the Los Angeles Lakers. The final game was more methodical than magnificent for the high-speed Suns on Wednesday night, a 119-110 victory that clinched the best-of-seven first-round series in five games. Amare Stoudemire scored 27 points and Shawn Marion added 26, and the Suns overcame an inspired performance by Lamar Odom and a late scoring binge by Kobe Bryant. ... Recap | Box | Blog | Highlights

Tuesday Practice Report
The Lakers took Monday off… well they were given Monday off by Head Coach Phil Jackson after a brief video session/tongue-lashing. When asked about Phil’s demeanor a day after the Game 4 loss to Phoenix Kobe Bryant mentioned that he’s never seen Jackson like this before, “This is as irritated as I’ve seen him. He was just really upset and frustrated. Hopefully the message got across.” Apparently some of the players carried the day off into the early part of today’s practice session... Full Report

GAME 4: Nash Shines as Suns Race to Win
Steve Nash did what he usually does - only better than he's ever done it. With that, the Phoenix Suns have a commanding 3-1 lead over the Los Angeles Lakers in their first-round playoff series. Nash had a career-high 23 assists - one shy of the NBA playoff record - to go with 17 points, and the Suns raced to a 113-100 victory over the Lakers on Sunday to move within one win of advancing... GAME 3: Lakers Slow Down Suns; Take Game 3
After the humiliation that was Game 2 of their playoff series against the Phoenix Suns, the Los Angeles Lakers fell behind by 17 points early in Game 3. At that stage, with the home crowd booing, Lakers star Kobe Bryant figured there were two directions his team could take. "You can put your tail between your legs or come back fighting,'' he said. The Lakers went with option No. 2. Recap | Box | Blog | Highlights

GAME 2: Suns Race to Win Over Lakers and 2-0 Series Lead
The Phoenix Suns put the pedal to the floor and left that Game 2 jinx, and the Los Angeles Lakers, buried in the dust. The Suns revved up their frenetic style to near perfection on Tuesday night in a 126-98 rout that put Phoenix up 2-0 in the best-of-seven first-round series. "It's hard to single things out,'' Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said. "Our defense was really good, our rebounding was..." Recap | Box | Blog | Highlights

GAME 1: 4th Quarter dooms Lakers
For a long time Sunday, the Phoenix Suns couldn't make a shot and Kobe Bryant couldn't miss. Then Leandro Barbosa, the "Brazilian Blur'', brought the NBA's highest-scoring offense to life, and Bryant went from awesome to awful. The result was a second-half rally that gave the Suns a 95-87 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in their first-round Western Conference playoff opener.... Recap | Box | Blog | Highlights

Lakers at Suns04/13/07 - Suns Top Lakers for 60th Win
The Phoenix Suns' 60th victory of the season was almost as ugly as Kobe Bryant's shooting night. Steve Nash had 26 points and 14 assists, and the sputtering Suns sent a weary Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers to their sixth loss in seven games, 93-85 on Friday night. Bryant, who played all 48 minutes in Thursday night's loss to the Los Angeles Clippers..... full story

Lakers at Suns04/08/07 - Nash Helps Suns Surge Past Lakers
Raja Bell has been playing long enough to know how rapidly things can change for an outside shooter. That being said, he's never had back-to-back games like his last two. Less than 48 hours after missing all 10 of his 3-point shots in a victory over the Hornets, Bell was a perfect 6-of-6 from beyond the arc and scored 22 points Sunday in a 115-107 triumph over the Los Angeles Lakers.... full story

Lakers at Suns03/04/07 - Nash’s Big Second Half Lifts Suns Over Lakers
The Phoenix Suns usually sprint to victory. With their "mojo'' severely lacking Sunday, they staggered to one. Steve Nash scored 18 of his 23 points in the second half - including two free throws with 5.4 seconds to play - and the Suns held on to beat the short-handed Los Angeles Lakers 99-94. "We just didn't have a lot of mojo,'' Nash said. "We never really found a lot. We just kind of hung..... full story

Lakers vs. Suns10/31/06 - Odom, Lakers Top Suns With Impressive Comeback
