Laker Girls Blog 03/14/11 - Erin
Hey, there, Lakers Fans, it’s your Laker Girl, Erin! For the third year in a row, I want you to know that have really enjoyed getting to see all of you fans at the Lakers games and special events I have been able to take part in. I sure hope you, too, have had just as much fun cheering on our back to back Champion L.A. Lakers team as we have! Although the team has its hiccups this season (such as, when they played Cleveland & Miami Heat), a 47-20 record is still impressive. As we all very well know, the Lakers team always seems to pull through under pressure, huh? Well, with us trickling down to the end of the NBA season, I know we are really excited to head to the NBA Playoffs. I feel so honored to have been able to be part of the previous two years of the NBA Playoffs – and I am sure the 2011 NBA Playoffs will be just as exciting!
Speaking of getting ready for the NBA Playoffs, the Laker Girls team will introduce a few new routines, as well as a couple of new uniforms at our games. This, for us, is always a fun part of our job. We love learning new routines and are always pumped to perform them for the first time. I am truly eager to get our new routine to J. Lo’s “On the Floor” out on the court soon! The song really makes me want to dance! I hope you all enjoy it as much as we do, because we always work hard to make our performances entertaining.
Five of my teammates and I just returned from Kalamazoo, Michigan. That’s right, Kalamazoo! The Kalamazoo Wings, a proud member of the ECHL, wanted to hire Laker Girls to put on a show at one of their home games. It was fun! Most of us had never been to Michigan, and boy, were we in for a shock because it was about 40 degrees fahrenheit! Me and my team mate Jessica, made a few appearances on the local news channels, as well as Radio Stations in the Kalamazoo area. We really a lot of fun! It was neat to see how they all worked behind-the-scenes at these stations - for neither of us had ever done anything like that before. With the running around from station to station, we were ready for a hearty breakfast. We were really craving a breakfast burrito from Carl’s Jr..…….but had to settle for a breakfast sandwich in our hotel. (they didn’t even compare!) Kalamazoo doesn’t know what it’s missing! Ha ha Everyone at the K-Wings game was very friendly and their fans were so supportive and loyal. It was wonderful to see how the K-Wings Hockey team brought together the town of Kalamazoo with their winning streak of 12 games. Plus their victory that evening, making it 13. Thank you, Kalamazoo, for such a wonderful experience!
Well, I can’t wait for our game tonight, when we take on the Orlando Magic at 7:30pm. Superman is no match for our Lakers! Thank you for all your loyalty and support…….and thank you for reading my blog! Let’s Go Lakers!!!
