Laker Girls Blog 01/25/10 - Jensen

Well, Lakers fans, we are almost through our first full month of 2010! It seems like it has simply flown by! My goodness, where does the time go?......

I hope all of you have been able to keep up on your New Year’s resolutions!

To be honest, I haven’t been perfect…….although the new Carl’s Jr. Cranberry Walnut Grilled Chicken Salad makes it easy for me stay on track in my eating habits!
Though, I can’t complain, so far 2010 has been a great year. I’m really looking forward to my birthday next month and the NBA Finals in June, because I predict the Lakers will win the NBA Championship for the 2nd year in a row!

Since I brought up “2nd year”, this year is also my second year on the Laker Girls team. What a rewarding year it has been so far. Since the Lakers won the championship last year, I feel our team’s pride and spirit has risen to such a higher level than ever before! I love as I see it displayed in the faces of our fans packed into the Staples Center during Lakers games. Also, my teammates (Laker Girls) this year are amazing! I have enjoyed “getting to know” all the new Laker Girls this season and feel I have been able to offer them guidance in any way needed. It has been fun, as I also have had the chance to experience another year of new and exciting memories with the “returning” Laker Girls.

It is hard to pick out my favorite aspects of being on the Laker Girls squad because this job is so multi-faceted. But there are two things that I particularly love doing…….they are:

Learning new routines that we perform during games and getting involved, out in the community for charity events.

I really like learning and rehearsing new routines during practice until they are finally “game ready.” It makes the experience that much better, knowing that our time and effort has paid off! Charity events are also great experiences for me because I love interacting with other Lakers fans. Not to mention, I feel I am able to help out and support so many good causes. As Laker Girls, we volunteer to do a lot of charity work and I think it really strengthens our team’s morale. While it seems it affects us “all for the better” as individuals. It’s an awesome feeling!

As I look back on 2009, I have to say that my favorite Lakers moment was the Championship parade and celebration at the Coliseum. The energy in Los Angeles that day was so intense - I absolutely loved it! It was awesome to dance on the Staples Center floor in the middle of a packed coliseum. It was such a surreal moment – it made me feel very honored and proud to be part of such a legendary franchise.

So, as 2010 continues on, I want to thank all you Laker fans for your endless energy, love and support! You all have had such a strong hand in making my experience with the Laker Girls unforgettable! I hope that you all can enjoy a healthy and happy year filled with excitement about what the future holds for you and yours.

Hopefully the Lakers can look back on their past year and make the necessary changes to repeat it! C’mon Lakers and Lakers fans……let’s bring another NBA championship to L.A. this year!

GO LAKERS!!!
