Shaq to be Honored with NAACP Humanitarian Award

The Lakers' Shaquille O'Neal will be among those honored on Thursday, December 12 as an all-star line up of L.A. area sports and entertainment luminaries will join civil rights leaders at the inaugural presentation of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF) Hank Aaron Humanitarian Award in Sports.

Legendary baseball Hall of Famer Hank Aaron and his wife Billye will join the organization in recognizing Shaq with a special LDF Young Leaders Award.

In addition, the community service contributions of the Honorable Bill Bradley, pioneering baseball player Larry Doby, and former UCLA basketball coach John Wooden, will be recognized with Humanitarian Awards.
