South Central Los Angeles -- Los Angles Lakers forward Brian Grant and his wife Gina helped brighten the faces of needy families on Thanksgiving day. The Grants partnered with Dinah’s restaurant and Melissa’s World Variety Produce to provide Thanksgiving dinners to families from A Place Called Home in South Central Los Angeles. Each Dinah’s dinner came with all of the traditional fixings – turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, yams, dinner rolls and pumpkin pie. Melissa’s donated a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to make the dinners complete.
Recording artist and close Grant family friend Raphael Saadiq also joined in to assist with the dinner distribution at A Place Called Home on Thanksgiving morning.
In addition, the Grants funded a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for 500 people living at LA Family Housing’s Valley Shelter and Transitional Shelter.
