Giveaways –
Throughout the season, the Los Angeles Lakers will be passing out giveaways to fans as they enter the STAPLES Center during home games. These giveaways are often arranged in conjunction with one of the team’s sponsors or by the team itself. Giveaway items may be anything from schedule magnets to cheer cards to T-shirts.

Volunteer Group Requirements –
This opportunity is open to Los Angeles county youth groups only. Proof of non-profit status is required to be a Lakers Giveaway Group.

We would need anywhere between 25-30 volunteers for a particular game night depending on the number of items. The group is expected to be dressed neatly. They can wear a uniformed T-shirt that represents their group with jeans or khakis. If a group T-shirt is not available then all members are expected to wear plain white shirts unless notified otherwise.

Group members will be split up in groups of four to seven at the three main entrances and the two VIP entrances. While there will be some supervision at the doors from Lakers staff at times, there are many activities occurring that need to be attended to on game nights. Therefore, it is absolutely essential for the giveaway volunteers to be responsible, diligent, and always remember that they are representatives of the Lakers. All youth groups must be accompanied by adults. For supervision purposes please make sure at least six chaperones are assigned from your facility for the game night as well.

In return for their volunteer service as the giveaway group, the volunteers will receive complimentary tickets to that home game and they will be able to enjoy three quarters from their seats. They will also receive complimentary parking.

Time Commitment –
The group must always arrive no later than two hours and 15 minutes before game time. For example, arrival time for a 7:30pm game would be at 5:15pm. The group is expected to be at the doors and handing out items from when VIP doors (two hours before game time) open up until the middle or the end of the first quarter. End time will be specified on each particular game night.

Unfortunately due to the nature of the season, the community relations department may not receive notice of a giveaway until a day or two before the game, so often times we like to work with groups that have their own transportation or can quickly arrange for it.
