The Triqui boys’ basketball team visits Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Lakers and Time Warner Cable Deportes welcomed the Triqui boys’ basketball team to Los Angeles to enjoy a series of special activities with the Lakers organization. The Triqui boys basketball team is an inspiring group of Triqui Indian’s from Oaxaca, Mexico. The team saved money for years to afford to compete in an international basketball tournament in Argentina, and against all odds, won the tournament despite many of them competing without shoes. While in Los Angeles the team partook in a clinic led by Lakers on-air personality and former NBA player, Pepe Sanchez. The team also participated in an interview with Time Warner Cable Deportes for the network’s “Lakers En Vivo” followed by a courtside experience acting as the Lakers “Honorary High Five Squad” prior to tip off.

Thank you for visiting Triqui Basketball Team, you are in inspiration to us all!
