What advice would you give to individuals who would like to be a professional dancer when they grow up?

My advice for any aspiring professional dancer is to make sure to stay in dance classes (even over holiday breaks) because your dance technique is important. I also think it is a good idea to take a good variety of classes and not to limit yourself to just one style of dance!

What daily activity gives you a great work out, even though it doesn’t seem like exercise?

A daily workout that I get is when I am teaching dance class, because even though it is dedicated to the students in the class I am teaching, I have to demonstrate each step with full energy and precision so they can understand the step or move to learn it correctly.

What do you eat on a game day?

On a game day I typically eat spinach and a mixed green salad with chicken. I also look to eat a good source of protein and fruit – I feel is helps sustain my energy throughout the game!

What is your favorite healthy snack to prepare and eat?

My favorite healthy snack is celery with peanut butter and raisins!

What daily activity gives you a great work out, even though it doesn’t seem like exercise?

Even if it’s just for a short distance, I like to get outside and walk, run or jog every day. I live by the beach, so my walks and runs never seem like a work out because I enjoy the beautiful scenery! I also try to take the stairs whenever possible, instead of an elevator or escalator…it’s an easy way to get exercise while going about my daily activities!

What is your favorite healthy snack to prepare and eat?

I love fruit, so I often make smoothies. It’s fun to try mixing different ingredients!

What one Fitness tip would you give to Lakers fans who are trying to stay fit? Nutrition tip?

One fitness tip I would give to fans would be to try and get some form of exercise in every day. Even if that means just walking around the office or taking the stairs…something as simple as that can be beneficial.

One nutrition tip I would give to fans would be to eat breakfast! Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

What was your favorite activity/sport as a kid?

My favorite activity/sport as a child was swimming! I loved when I had swim lessons because I got to jump in the water for hours! Swimming is also a great total body workout!

Has being a Laker Girl enhanced you in other parts of your life?

Being a Laker girl, has changed my life in so many ways. Not only does it teach me to balance a busy schedule, but it also has taught me to be more organized! I have learned new things about myself that I never knew before and I am always trying to improve as an individual (as well as a teammate). Being more organized and self-aware are definitely qualities that enhance my life for the better. This journey is a once in a life time experience that I will cherish forever.

A fitness tip: Try not to repeat the same work out every day! Mix it up. Challenge yourself to new workout regiments.

It’s a game day ritual for me to eat Greek yogurt with almonds and honey! It’s a bowl full of protein to give me energy while on the court!

Technique is your foundation! Continue to strive to stay strong in all areas of dance! Also, showmanship is important and it’s what might make you stand out from the rest!

My favorite activity as a kid was swimming! Coming from Arizona, where we experienced 115 degree weather, swimming was the best way to stay cool and stay active!

What one Fitness tip would you give to Lakers fans who are trying to stay fit? Nutrition tip?

One fitness tip I would give Lakers fans is to do something active every day. It can even be fun and silly like dancing around in the kitchen. One nutrition tip I would give is to cook at home more, versus picking up fast food on the way home. You will be surprised by how much better you feel!

What do you eat on a game day?

A game day dinner for me includes a salad with some sort of lean protein. I also bring a piece of fruit if I need more energy during the game.

Has being a Laker Girl enhanced you in other parts of your life?

Yes it has! I am so lucky to work with my teammates, who I loved getting to know this year. These girls motivate me daily to be the best person that I can be. I also enjoy going out into the community and meeting our Lakers fans! We also have the opportunity to attend various charity events throughout Los Angeles…..it's nice to see first-hand, what non-profit organizations & foundations do, to make a difference in other people's lives. It is so inspiring!

What is your favorite healthy snack to prepare and eat?

I like to chop up various fresh veggies and make some stir-fry.
