Wish Night with the Lakers
Valentine’s Day, known as a day to celebrate love, became a day to grant wishes on Wish Night With The Lakers. During the game versus the Atlanta Hawks, the Lakers Youth Foundation showed their support for Make-A-Wish of Greater Los Angeles by pledging $200 for every free throw that was made by a Laker. The fast-paced Lakers victory did not net many free throw attempts, but the Lakers Youth Foundation did not let that hinder their generosity and donated a grand total of $3,500 to Make-A-Wish of Greater Los Angeles!
The staff and volunteers from Make-A-Wish of Greater Los Angeles were on hand to witness Wish Night With The Lakers. They filled up all of the seats in section 324 of STAPLES Center, also a donation from the Lakers Youth Foundation. After the game one young child had his wish granted: a private postgame meeting with Kobe Bryant. The wish recipient could not contain his enthusiasm as he and Kobe played basketball, and posed for pictures. This wish was just one of over 300 that have been granted by the Lakers since 2001 and made for a truly special cap to Wish Night With The Lakers!
