Junior Lakers - Dribble, Dish and Swish Contest
The Los Angeles Lakers partnered with Lafayette Park and HOLA to host the Southern California Lakers Regional Competition of the NBA FIT / WNBA FIT Dribble, Dish & Swish contest. This fall, more than 40,000 children participated nationwide in the NBA’s free basketball and fitness skills competition. 18 eager boys and girls, ages ranging from 7 to 12 years old, competed in the Southern California regional competition this week after winning in their local market.
The Dribble, Dish and Swish contest gives participants the opportunity to showcase their fitness through a dribbling, passing and shooting skills competition in the sport of basketball. All participants were given two chances to complete the basketball skills course which included making two lay-ups, one free throw, two dribbling obstacle courses and one passing skills challenge. The better of their two times was then their final score for the competition.
