Lakers Annual Holiday Party for Kids
The Lakers continued “A Season of Giving”, presented by East West Bank this last Saturday with the Holiday Party For Kids. Club members from the Boys and Girls Club of Carson, the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Monica and the Mar Vista Family Center were all invited to take part in the annual party. This year’s Holiday Party for Kids was done in typical Los Angeles style, featuring holiday music and decorations… all outdoors!
Upon arrival, guests were treated to a catered lunch. After they had eaten their fill, the guests were joined by the Lakers and Laker Girls and invited to play carnival games and get autographs. The Laker Girls were quick to engage the children in a fun dance circle, while the Lakers players gravitated towards the games. Each player chose his favorite game and took on all challengers. Josh Powell was an expert at the putting game, while Luke Walton preferred the shuffle board and Sasha Vujacic specialized in ring toss.
This year’s Holiday Party for Kids featured a special guest: the NBA Champion’s 2009 Larry O’Brien Trophy! Each of the guests had an opportunity to pose for a picture with Kobe Bryant, Derek Fisher and the trophy. The photo was printed on the spot, and each kid received a great souvenir of the afternoon. But the gifts didn’t stop there. The guests, most of whom were already sporting t-shirts coated in autographs, received holiday presents from the Lakers. Each guest left with a Lakers Eco-bag which was stuffed with a basketball, foam finger, megaphone, Lakers’ 2009 Championship hat, and holiday fleece blanket from East West Bank.
The Lakers want to extend holiday wishes to all Lakers fans and to East West Bank for their support of “A Season of Giving”.
