HOLA Bowla 2009

On March 7, the Lakers Youth Foundation was again a proud sponsor of HOLA Bowla. The annual charity bowling event is organized by Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), an organization provides underserved youth with exceptional programs in academics, arts and athletics.

This year’s event was held at the Pinz Bowling Center in Studio City, CA. Trevor Ariza, DJ Mbenga, Shannon Brown and the Laker Girls joined HOLA sponsors and youth for an afternoon of bowling fun. As the guests bowled they were visited by the Lakers players and Laker Girls who generously signed autographs and took pictures. The Lakers players also served as the number callers for the charity raffle. The lucky raffle winners went away with autographed basketballs and gift baskets. When they were finished with their hosting duties, some players and Laker Girls stayed after to try their hand at bowling. No word on whether bumpers were employed!

All funds raised at HOLA Bowla benefit the Central City Basketball Association (CCBA), an inner-city youth league sponsored by HOLA. The money will help pay for team uniforms, equipment, facility fees and operating expenses. The CCBA is proudly sponsored by the Lakers Youth Foundation and HOLA and has served over 2,300 athletes since 1991.
