The Lakers partnered with Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-Que and East West Bank to serve a traditional Thanksgiving meal to 200 children and their families on Saturday, November 17. Guests gathered outside the Club to work up an appetite by playing interactive and inflatable games. When the Lakers arrived they were greeted with a roar of applause!
The crowd gathered as Jordan welcomed everyone and invited them inside for a meal complete with turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie.
The players and Laker Girls served the food buffet style as their guests filed in. Andrew even left his station to serve pumpkin pie to people at their tables!
After everyone was served, the players and Laker Girls spent time mingling with fans, taking pictures and signing autographs. To conclude the event, Laker Girl Pennee and Lakers rookie Javaris wished the guests a safe and happy Thanksgiving. On their way out, every Club member received East West Bank and Los Angeles Lakers goodie bags.
The Lakers would like to thank the representatives from Roy W. Roberts II/Watts-Willowbrook Boys & Girls Club, East West Bank and Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que for making this surprise visit possible.
