Lakers Host Third Annual Wish Night with the Lakers on December 13th
by Edie Gobel |

The Los Angeles Lakers and the Make-A-Wish Foundation partnered to make December “A Season of Wishes.” On Thursday, December 13th during the third annual Wish Night with the Lakers at STAPLES Center, the Lakers took on the San Antonio Spurs and won! On this night, for every Lakers 3-Pointer, the Lakers Youth Foundation donated $500 to support the wishes of Los Angeles children with life-threatening medical conditions.

The Lakers also donated 170 seats to the Foundation’s families and volunteers. The Foundation’s “A Season of Wishes” campaign information was featured on the arena’s Jumbotron and the Lakers privately granted the wish of a Make-A-Wish child. “This is our third year hosting Wish Night with the Lakers for the Foundation’s holiday campaign and we look forward to it every year,” said Eugenia Chow, Director of Community Relations. “Knowing that every 3-point-basket will help the Make-A-Wish Foundation grant wishes for children in Los Angeles keeps the entire STAPLES Center crowd on the edge of their seats throughout the game.”

With the help of Jordan Farmar and Vladimir Radmanovic, who scored two 3 point baskets each, and Luke Walton and Kobe Bryant, who each scored one, the Lakers were able to raise $3,000 for the Make a Wish Foundation, bringing the grand total for the last three years to $10,700!

The Lakers are proud to partner with various wish granting organizations to grant wishes for children and adults with life-threatening medical conditions.
