On behalf of the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, the Los Angeles Lakers would like to extend a sincere “thank you” to the fans who donated money to help the American Red Cross meet the needs of one of the largest evacuations in California history. Fans had the opportunity to support the Red Cross by either donating money at our home opener on October 30th or by bidding on items sold at our in-arena “All-Star Auction” during the month of November.

Fans that made a minimum contribution of $5.00 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund on opening night were able to come down to the court after the game, meet the 2007-08 Los Angeles Laker Girls squad and receive an autographed Laker Girls photo. Over 250 fans participated and raised $1,810!

During the month of November, at select home games, the Lakers auctioned off memorabilia donated by fellow NBA teams. All-star items like a Lebron James autographed authentic jersey, a 2007-08 team signed Boston Celtics Basketball, and a Yao Ming autographed authentic jersey were sold in-arena to raise additional funds for the Red Cross.

Through the generosity of loyal Lakers fans, we were able to raise over $13,000 for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund! Again, we thank you for your support.
