Pau Gasol led the way with 23 points and 10 rebounds as the Lakers won the battle of STAPLES Center 96-91 over the Clippers on Wednesday night. Bryant scored 24 while Bynum had 19 points. Lakers Announce Spanish TV Team

The Lakers have hired Adrian Garcia Marquez (play-by-play) and Francisco Pinto (television analyst) as the team’s Spanish TV announcers for the upcoming 2012-13 season. Time Warner Cable will launch a Spanish-language regional sports network. Garcia Marquez and Pinto will serve as the team’s Spanish TV announcers for the new network. PRESS RELEASE

Caracter to D-Fenders

The Los Angeles Lakers have assigned forward Derrick Caracter to the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League. Caracter, who underwent surgery on December 14th to remove part of a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee, originally sustained the injury two days prior during Lakers training camp. Second All-Star Voting Returns

Bryant, who leads all Western Conference players, has tallied 1,110,379 votes while Bynum has amassed 777,365. Pau Gasol remains fourth among forwards. Lakers Edged by Pacers

Kobe Named Olympic Finalist

Kobe Bryant has been named as one of the 20 finalists for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Men’s basketball team, a roster which includes eight 2008 Olympic gold medalists and 10 members of the 2010 USA World Championship gold medal winning team.
