Stat Of The GameWithout Amar'e Stoudemire or Chauncey Billups, Carmelo Anthony put forth one of the greatest performances in Knicks postseason history despite the loss, pouring in 42 points, 17 rebounds, six assists and two blocks in just under 44 minutes of action.
Turning PointJared Jeffries put the Knicks ahead 92-91 by converting a slashing lay-up with 20 ticks left, but Kevin Garnett came back down and nailed a short jumper over Jeffries, who played outstanding defense on the play, to put the C's up by one with 14 seconds left. The Knicks had a chance to take the lead, but Garnett deflected a Jeffries pass then called a time-out after recovering the ball to seal the win for the home team.
