LAS VEGAS, NV, July 8, 2006 -- In the final game of Saturday's Toshiba Vegas Summer League action, the Phoenix Suns built up a 20-point halftime (50-30) lead and wound up winning by a 89-70 score over the New York Knicks. The Suns ran away with the game while shooting 60.0% in the first-half of play and knocking down 52.3% (34-65 FG) overall in the game.

Amare Stoudemire topped all players with 24 points (10-16 FG) in 26:38 minutes of play. Stoudamire's effort was followed by double-digit outings from Ruben Douglas' and Chris Owens' 13 point efforts.

New York's' David Lee picked up the only double-double of the game as he knocked down 21 points (10-13 FG) and collected 13 rebounds. The rest of the Knicks' scorers were held to single-digit nights.

The Suns scored 20+ points in all but the third quarter, while the Knicks did the opposite. New York only broke the 20-point barrier in the third with a 25 point outburst. The Knicks shot 48.3% (28-58 FG) from the field, which was greatly helped by the offense knocking down 58.1% (18-31 FG) in the third and fourth quarters combined.

Each team will take Sunday off before returning to the Cox Pavilion for games on Monday night. The Suns will take on the Detroit Pistons at 6 p.m., while the Knicks face the Sacramento Kings at 8 p.m.
